This is a capstone that I adore — Chaya Blumberg’s project.

Chaya’s Moodboard

In this course, I have a few other classmates and one project I am excited to see come together is Chayas. Her goal for this project is to explore the typography and design history of iconic signs in Boston. This will involve her designing a magazine, website, posters, and social media graphics. Her project is called THE T: ICONIC TYPOGRAPHY OF BOSTON. In her blog she writes:

“THE T: ICONIC TYPOGRAPHY OF BOSTON — Exploring the history and typography of iconic Boston signs and landmarks.”

Chaya’s Project Identity Mark

I chose Chaya’s project because of the inspiring way she creates and comes up with unique solutions. I have seen her creativity, style, and skills progress over the last few years and she has always been so talented, but this project is definitely one I am excited to see come to fruition. This project is very unique, cleanly designed, has a clear purpose, and is very engaging. I truly can see this project becoming one of her best pieces.

This project really fits Chaya because her design style is very modern, clean, and somewhat bold/geometric. The subject of this project and her design style will complement each other well.

One suggestion I have for her is to take some risks with this as this is our final large project. I think she will create some really interesting things, but I hope that she will get out of her comfort zone even more than she already does and add this to the list of pieces she is proud of. She has done incredible work and I know this will not be any different.
